Easter is upon us...

A friend commented that we celebrate Easter 52 times per year, that is true, but in our hearts we need to celebrate every day!  Jesus died so that we might live!  Celebrate your Risen Savior this Easter season, then continue to praise Him every morning, noon, and night!

We will have the traditional Ham Dinner here.  Ham, Crock Pot Potatoes, Sweet Potatoe Casserole, Corn, Cole Slaw, Jello/ Fruit Salad, Hot Rolls, and Layered Dessert(baked cookie type crust layered with cream cheese and pudding mixtures, coconut flavor.)  Sweet tea will accompany all of this!  The Lord has surely blessed us, we are truly thankful!  I will post recipes and photos after Easter.

Hopefully we will have a break in the rain for our Easter Egg Hunt!  My wonderful little grands all have boots, and it sounds like we may be using them!

Happy  Easter everyone!!!!

Taco Casserole

Taco Casserole

1 package  corn bread/muffin mix
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
3 cups browned and drained hamburger mixed with 1 pkg taco seasoning   1 can red beans        1 can diced tomatoes    1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 tomato, chopped                                                                                                                                   lettuce

In a large bowl, combine the corn bread, egg and milk until blended.  Spread into an 9 X 13 pan sprayed with cooking spray.  Bake at 350 for 15 minutes, remove from oven and using a fork put holes in cornbread doing entire pan.  Combine taco meat, beans, and canned diced tomatoes, spread over corn bread.  Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheese.  Bake for 20 - 25 minutes longer or until heated through and cheese is melted.  Place a serving on each plate and sprinkle on lettuce, onion and tomato.  Add taco sauce or salsa if desired.  Add a dollop of sour cream and sprinkle on shredded cheese and add sliced olives.
Hope you enjoy this quick easy one dish meal!

Precious little Princess!

Have done a little sewing, but not quilting.  Decided to make the cutest little dress and scarf for my youngest grand, of course she is adorable all on her own but this litte outfit was so cute on her and she loved it!  It turned out a little big so have to adjust the pattern but still too cute not to share!

Happy Valentine's!

Here is a sampling of the cards I made this year.  Used Stampin' Up, inks and stamps and my Cricut Expression and the Create A Critter cartridge.  Oh yes, and Stickles!  Love those Stickles!   I'm not sure of the paper company.  Love to make cards for my little sweeties!

Overnight Caramel Rolls, huge success!

Oh yes, and I also love to cook!  Tried a new recipe last night that is a deffinate keeper.  Overnight Caramel Rolls were so easy and sooooo good, I will deffinately add them to my collection!  Here's the recipe, enjoy!

Overnight Caramel Rolls

Butter well an Angel Food or Bundt cake pan

Into pan sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped pecans(more or less to you liking)

One loaf of frozen bread dough, thawed.  Using kitchen shears split loaf lengthwise, then cut each side into 8-10 pieces.  Place these into the pan.

Sprinkle over rolls one box of  dry Butterscotch pudding mix (the cook and serve type-NOT instant)

Melt 1 stick butter, add to this 3/4 cup of brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon, mix well.  Pour over rolls.

Butter a heavy plate, place on top of cake pan, set in cold oven, leave overnight.

In the morning, remove plate, turn oven on to 350 degrees and bake for about 25 minutes.

Remove from oven, let sit to cool the gooey stuff for 10-15 minutes then place buttered plate back on top and turn rolls out onto plate.  Enjoy!

These were really yummy on this cold morning!   This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! Have a great day!

Another has come and gone...

Well I don't have my Valentine's Day cards ready but I am working on them and have candy purchased!  So I'm on my way!  I have so many ideas for cards running through my head and I need to get busy on them!  And then there's the quilting and sewing!  I have 4 precious grands with American Girl dolls who need clothes!  I have a beautiful stash of fabric to pick from.  My quilting passion goes in spurts along with my energy.  This snowy day has come and is on it's way out so I must get to my crafting rooms and do some relaxing!  Enjoy this day that you have been blessed with!

So much paper, so little energy...

Looking in my scrapbooking room today and thinking about Valentine Cards!  It's almost that time, I am usually last minute so I am hoping to get them done early this year and in the mail.  I have so many new ideas I want to try.  I will be working on them and hope to post some pictures soon.
Jesus is the reason for every season!

Blog...mmmmmm...I'll try!

This will be my very first attempt at a blog.  I scrapbook my families photos/memories & make handcrafted greeting cards. I am also  a quilter.  I will attempt to share, with anyone who is interested some of the items that I make.  I will also share some photography from the view through my eyes.  Happy New Year everyone and may 2011 be a blessing to you and may you be a blessing to others!  God has a plan for everyone, take the time to see His plan for you!  God Bless you!
