1 year anniversary for blog!

Well, I just realized after posting that today is the 1st anniversary for Nana's Scrap Patch blog!  So to celebrate here is a long time favorite family recipe...

SORGHUM CORN

3/4 cup Sorghum
3/4 cup ganulated sugar
1 Tbs butter (use real butter)
1/2 tsp baking soda
8 quarts popped corn

Cook sorghum and sugar over low heat until it begins to softly boil.  While this is cooking pop 8 quarts of popcorn, I use and air popper, but also tried using microwave popcorn and it worked fine, took several bags. Remove the sorghum mixture from the heat and add the butter and soda, stir quickly, it will foam up but then can be stirred down a bit and pour over popped corn.  Stir quickly to coat all corn, pour out onto a buttered pan or onto buttered wax paper, spread evenly and set aside to cool.  I can never leave it alone until it cools, have to keep tasting!  WARNING-this stuff is highly addictive!  But so easy and great for these cool evenings with your family!
